John Sullivan

I was born February 18, 1740 in Somerworth, New Hampshire. I was a very good American soldier and a Political Leader.

My part ...

I was part of building this new nation. When I joined the Continental Congress, I was put as the delegate. Later, I was announced the Brigadier General so I had to join the army at the Siege of Boston. After the nation was built, I was put to replace John Thomas in war by General George Washington. I didn't know why he chose me over other, I was glad i though he noticed that i was actually a good fighter and i had my own mind. I later realised that he chose me for the way i save people. I never had training to save them but i cannot just keep fighting and leave those men that could stay alive lying on the floor! I was very proud of myself and i never forgot that.

My Death

I died on January 23rd, 1795. After the war, I was called a hero back in my hometown, people appreciated me. They also named me the State's attorney general in 1782. I was named President three times (1786, 1787, 1789). I wasn't too healthy but i still did my job, at age 54 I was too sick to walk. I later died at my home in Durham. Before i died, i began to wonder about my life, about how everything I did was saving my nation. I wanted to live for a long time but when I got sick I realised that it's the end.

My facts are:

1. I never wanted to fight in the war, but later i figured that i had to.
It was my part to learn how to fight for my rights.
2. My Son is George Sullivan, and my brother is James Sullivan.
3. I was always known as a leader, but sometimes i just wanted to be the one to follow the rules, but because i was good at the job, everyone chose me to lead.
4. I was the major of New Hampshire and Rhode Island.
5. Since i fought a lot, in Sept. 1777 i was commanded the American rights, and i took part in the battle of Germantown on Oct. 4, 1777.

Where do i come from??

I was born in Somersworth, New Hampshire. My father was a schoolmaster and I was his third son. The town I came from was very small and not many people lived there. Since my town was poor populated I became the only lawyer and that made a lot of my neighbors mad, a lot of people disagree with me and some agreed with my laws. Later I established and improved my relations with my Community. I later met and became friends with John Wentworth who introduced me to the leader of the Continental Congress, who later told me to join (which I did). I always love coming here because is a great though to see where i grew up in and what i have accomplished here. My mom and dad also love coming here, i like to see there faces when they see the house we used to live in, it's huge and white and has a lot of windows.

What did I do for a living??

I had a lot of different jobs at my time. I ran campaigns and I teached soldiers how to fight at war. I was pretty much busy all the time. Everything I ever worked in was about political issues. I became president, major, leader, teacher and so on. In my free time i was always with my family, my brother James and son George. Something I always wanted was for people to see how much I can do for them. I was a good listener and i writ very good. Everytime i was put to be a leader i always though was because they liked me but it was because of the way i think. I always use big words in my writing and i use them in smart ways. My father always taugh me to be a good thinker and try my best to help pleople.

What was I Famous for???

I was famous for my work in the colonies. I was a soldier and the first grand master of Masons in New Hampshire. I was a good leader and a good resident. I worked for the law and became the major of Rhode Island in 1778. I also became the president of the state in 1786-1787. In the summer of 1779 I ran the Sullivan expedition which was a campaign that was also ran by James Clinton and the four nations of the Iroquois who were in the British side in the American Revolutionary War. The campaign led us to a major battle in Newton along the Chemung River in western New York. After the battle me and my army made another campaign called Scorched Earth which destroyed 40 Iroquois villages which is now upstate New York. We lost a lot of materials and a lot of our soldiers died frozen and starved to death.

Friends???

If John Sullivan was still alive i would definitely will be his friend. He was a good leader and a good thinker. I would like to see his way of working and the way he manages to do everything he can. He seemed like a very good leader and friend, he was right at doing things and he fought hard for what he wanted. I think that his inspiration has taught me a lot and i would some day like to accomplish what he did. He wasn't only a leader but a good brother, father and son. he was always there for the people when they needed him and i want to do the same. He is a great example.

REFLECTION

I found this project to be very easy. I learned a lot about John Sullivan and how he was a great man. I would love to do more projects like this, I love using technology and no paper . I really had my mind into this 100%. I learned that when you wish for something you should go and fight for it. I always wanted to be a writer and now I realised as I was doing this project that I should do anything to become one (but first I have to learn the basics in writing). I also read some of the blogs from my classmates and I was amazed at how much everyone learned in this project. It showed that we all had a lot to say about our person. once again this project was really easy and I cant wait to do another!!
